Try a Stant 10208 says fits a 3/4" deep neck. 1953-64 Ford tractor or 1952-56 Ford pickup with OHV engine.

I think the problem is the steering gear is adjusted and the play is taken out in the centered position and when using the shortened pitman arm the gear is not in the centered position when driving...

The BB clamshell is not the same as the AA. The holes on the BB are 2 7/8" center to center and the AA is 2 3/4" center to center. I think the difference is because the driveshaft is bigger.

I looked at three coupling shafts and none have grease fittings.
If you look at the torque tube there are two grease fittings, the front one looks like it would grease the u-joint the one a little...

Looking at the picture in post 44 it is obvious that the shoes were not arced to fit the diameter of the drums.

The pilot bearing is metric. ID 17mm, OD 40mm,
W 12mm. The bearing with the smaller ID is 15.875 mm
or 5/8".

There was a thread some years back with the part number for a bearing with the same OD of the pilot bearing but the ID was smaller.

Left is Barrett B-170, center is a Barrett B-160, and right is an Ammco 1750.
