Re: Tired...Tire

We had those tires on the '30 Roadster for ever, yes they looked awfully good! I replaced them only two years ago after I found out they were made in 1972:p:p

I never gave them much thought at the...

Re: Announcing The 2026 Restoration Guidelines and Judging Standards

Reasonable price considering all of the work that went into it!
I'll be buying it for sure!
Thanks to all who worked on it....

Re: 1935 pickup side window mechanism

And to add further, left side is always numbered an odd number in the basic part number in the Ford Parts Numbering system. And yes they determined as Kube says, you are sitting in the car facing...

Re: I'm Outta Touch, I'm Outta Time

Re: Fuel line question - UPDATE

Another trick is take a cast iron Zenith carb, remove the brass fuel filter, replace it with a bolt that will screw in about 2 inches long. Then put your ferrule on the end of the line and snug the...

Re: Steve Ryan Model "A" Meet Experience

Yow:eek: I guess I have been asleep at the Roadster wheel! Oh well! Point well made.
I like your comparison to the Edsel--- I wouldn't want one of those ugly be-jeebers as a gift.
And yes, example...

Re: Steve Ryan Model "A" Meet Experience

Sad to say but that is very true. I like woodies I think they are neat! I guess maybe the prices got ran up way too high too fast a few years ago:confused:

I think the next model car we will see...

Re: Excellent Article on Oil...

I am in agreement with 38 Coupe also. I've never added ZDDP to our Model A Fords OR Flatheads, and have never ever had any issues.

Now, one question I DO have... do you fellows believe a...

Re: Pate Swap Meet... Who went and how was it

It seems a lot of people are in a 'wait-and-see' mode anymore, and aren't out actively doing things. Money tighter perhaps, inflation really took a bite out of all of us.

For example, new car...

Re: Steve Ryan Model "A" Meet Experience

I've been around the hobby actively since I was a teenager, since 1971:)

In regards to value and all that and we've talked about that a LOT here on FB, I don't fuss much over that anymore. I used...

Re: Autolite is closing down - Buy your 3076 spark plugs now

Well, not quite so sure about this.
Motorcraft and Autolite brand parts are alive and well. Ford makes a HUGE profit on parts and service , as compared to actually selling cars. And those brands...

Re: Ditched the "Air Maze"...

Another thought on this subject comes to mind.
Today's road and driving environment are night and day compared to what the Model A's were exposed to when they were new. There were few hard roads...

Re: Ditched the "Air Maze"...

Same experience here with an Air-Maze 'filter' on the '29 Tudor:) It came on the car as we bought it.
It fell off on the highway one day as the set screw holding it on a Tillotson carb couldn't...

Re: Painting a Model A

I've seen some cars painted, at home in the garage, with nothing but light drapes of bisqueen making up the 'booth, the floor was wetted down and they got to work.

A couple of Chevy's that show...

Steering column support underside of gas tank

Is it a viable job to try to solder the gas tank connection on these, with the tank still in the car? Or to do the job the right way, should it be taken out and done on the workbench?
I have a small...

Re: Now it's junk from Carpenter!

I was working in a Ford garage at that time too, as a Parts Mgr., and it seems that that 'fix' alleviated the problem, but I still wouldn't have trusted them!
Mustang II was based on the Pinto...
