Oh goody goody...oil pan stories!
My wife always had her oil changed at "Fleet Farm", a local big box store. One time she came home with a note saying she needed a new drain plug before the next...

Re: fuel pump stand bottom tube
In most decent hardware stores you can buy short pieces of tube, but the correct size?
I would be looking in the dumpster at a tractor dealer for a chunk of hydraulic tube.
Then...JB weld it...

Re: First Drive of 2026
Nice drive Ralph, I get shivers seeing you still have snow! Not much of a winter here in central USA this year.

Re: 1935 Ford 5W Coupe Shift Lever?
The shift levers are shorter on the bottom, 32-36 into the slanted shift tower. Vertical shift tower, 37 & up are longer at the bottom, and do not interchange.

Re: For Ryan
Me too, "forbidden 403" all day yesterday, cleared up this morning, now back again. I have to close the window and start over. Ryan said he's fighting bots again

Re: Aligning Light/Horn Switch
The nubs on the bezel line up with the square portion that goes into the fork at the bottom. If you had the whole rod out, you would see a seam on the tube, that should be straight, and line up...

Re: 34 trip
I think Dodge 6's were flatheads quite late, like mid 50's. The ute looks more of a GM product to me.

Re: 8n tractor pressure plate
Interesting info Bob, thanks for that. Any engine shop should have a spring tester, Which I planed to do with my slipping 9" some day when it gets to the top of the list. Now with that data, we...

Re: 1946 to 1948 59A oil pan capacity
Up until the Japanese invasion in the 70's, I think every car on the road took 5 US quarts.
I worked at a gas station in my teens, we put 5 quarts in without looking.

Re: battery disconnect switch
I've never been a fan of those things. They quite often result in problems down the road a few years with bad connections in an un necessary gizmo. Just pull off the battery cable. If its clean...

Re: Surf boards? No thanks
Gary, you need that panel truck. It would be swell to haul the AeroThrust to shows, and haul away spectators that got too close to the demonstration.

Re: 8BA gen size
In WW2 jeeps were 6v, some trucks were 12v, and big stuff was 24 volt. So, after that they got smart and made everything 24 volt , so a jeep could jump a tank, all bulbs are the same, and even...

Re: Adapting hydraulic brakes to 34 spindle
I agree with Tim, its the seal surface, the 34 had no seal. I did one with the kit from Lecy, v8 garage, and my spacers were a bit loose too. I peened the spindle a bit, then red locktite. I...
