There are several styles of original Ford Script battery cases. The dimensions changed over time and so did the exterior appearance. Some original Ford Script battery cases are too short to install a modern Optima 6 volt battery inside. For example the Type 40 for 1935 and a few other years, is 5/8" shorter than the optima. Some other years the case is taller. It all depends on exactly which battery you are using.
