Looking good!!! You might have to modify your cab blocks as you stated, but that's OK. My '34 is stock but it is "your truck" and do it the way you want. It is on its way to becoming, "you can drive and have fun!!!" Keep us updated and I enjoy your excitement!!!

Been awhile: finally got back onto the 34 PU. We had 2" of ICE, VP of RG#85 broke his leg! So here is the latest:
Mounted radiator with the Drake Hose Kit. Set the fancy grill on for looks. Engine needed 5 washers on TOP of a MERC lift mount to clear for the fan belt [removal]. I even removed the crank guide bracket and used flat 'U' bolts for front spring. Installed the 'Quiet ride' Firewall pad- Very nice product, but needed some help. Installed the original cab wood- used 15 painted bolts and SHORTENED 12 of them for looks. Bolt ends protruding into passenger space [hazard]. Firewall parts next, engine has been tested a bit ago. Shocks ready to install. Thanks to the encouragement from followers. Expect to drive it this SUMMER! Newc

Pete, I took a second look and you may be correct.

Saving OLD chrome-rusty back side. Grills, bumpers, ect always seem to have a POOR backside on chrome parts. This '34 PU grill was chromed in the '70's, brazed bottom edge, BUT the show surface is still good.
So it got wire brushed , cleaned off, and some derust magic applied. After drying; Sprayed with a good coat of bright silver enamel. REMEMBER to tape the holes before any of this is applied!!, even brushed into the open gill bars. I hope this grill lasts another 50yrs. I remember we always opened the grill bars [crimped shut] before working on a Ford grill. Drying in front of the stove. [Winter] Photo Newc

Had one of those back in the late 50's, baught it froma guy in NH for 75 dollars and the juce brakes were on it, but didn't work very well. Not sure how I fixed that. It was my dailey driver back then My wife wouldn't allow me to drive her wagon. Wish I never sold it.
