Gene has it. The ignition system is governed by the engine load, and thus the "load a matic"/ his systen uses a special carb to supply the vacuum signel to the distributor and works well on a STOCK...

The cam is the culprit, the load a matic distributor is following it. Now you cam go back to a stock cam or a distributor that follows the engine.

Never use a generator or mechanical fam. Always use an Alternator and electric fan Last forever, works great.

using the stamp steel passenger bell housing you can bore the register to fit the T-170 trans and weld on some ears and have the best transmission ever made.
