Flatjack9 ..... your motor is a 276 with the SU-1A what else has been done to it.
What rear end gear , rear tire size & overdrive unit is in your coupe , 22 mpg is good for a flathead.

Bill .... are you using water only or antifreeze mix ... My 47 convertible was running hot & boiling over , have 4.11 gear in the rear end .... noticed calcium in the radiator & read on the ford barn...

Thanks Old Henry , I will make up some stainless mounting plates with studs/bolts & try silver soldering or tack welding them in. They look to be 1/4 inch studs/bolts.
