Re: Voltage regulator
I think the regulator number is R-141. When I look that up nothing comes up. The only information on the regulator body is made in USA and positive ground. Similar Borg Warner units are priced higher...

Re: Voltage regulator
I learned yesterday that, yes, temperature is the boss when it comes to the regulator. Off went the plastic bowl, and on went the original cover. Thanks everyone.

Voltage regulator
I was checking out my voltage regulator because I have Sunday off and I'm spending it with my Mercury. The amps gauge has a kind of a flicker to it and while trying to find out why I noticed that...

Replaced my generator end place bushing.
Yesterday I replaced my rear generator bushing. I had already purchased a nice end plate to keep my '53 Monterey on the road, but by replacing the bushing I would have a spare. I broke a hack saw...

Re: This might slow my oil burning
10-30 non detergent and add zinc is what I do. I went to the store at 8am today and it was 6 below. Cranked a little slower but started, and I sat and kept it running till the chill was gone.

Re: My generator.
Yes, it's the ball bearing! I assumed it was a grease fitting. I'm going to clean it up and find a bushing maybe. For now, I'll enjoy driving the car to work. I only go about 1/8 of a mile there and,...

Re: Pearl Harbor Day
