I have a '46 Business Coupe that is missing the package tray and I would like to replicate one. Are there any photos, dimensions available or is someone offering a kit? Thanks!

Here's a picture of my '41 Business Coupe tray. I can take some more pictures and measurements for you if needed but won't be for a week or so as it is currently stored at my fiance's mothers garage. Let me know and I will do what I can

meric42, I very much appreciate your speedy reply and offer to help! I would very much appreciate any additional photos and measurements you can provide. If possible I would also like to see photos of your seat and how the back that lifts up is upholstered. Just when you have time! Thanks again!

I will get to the coupe and take soon pic's as soon as I can for you. Mine has an old seat cover protecting it so you may not see a lot of the original upholstery but '41 is quite different in the fabric to '46.

shortdoor, i looked for a few years for one. then i found guy that sent me drawing. then a few years after that talking to a guy at swap 2 hrs away said he had seat and tray. He lived about 10 miles from me! you do know the seats are different than the 5 pass coupe. the back flips up from bottom to get behind/under shelf

Yes, I have the flip up seat back. In fact, it is already upholstered. All work on this car was stopped in 1992. That man had bought everything for this car. He then went to a "restorer" to get the work done. We all know how that goes. My friend traded a snowmobile for it and never touched it. I got it in 2006 and had to remove the body from the frame to sandblast and paint everything. Time marches on and I am finally going to get paint on it this spring. I have been driving it up and down the road sitting on a milk crate. So, while it is still cold, I have been wiring and looking at this package shelf. I am going to use hard wood 1/2-inch plywood and a 3/4-inch hardwood piece at the front. I have all the covering from the LeBaron Bonney kit that was purchased in 1991. It is a Super Deluxe so grey covering. I believe 1947 and 1948 were Deluxe, hence the brown covering.

Instead of painting or wrenching, I wood worked today. I think my father would have approved of my work using his table saw and drill press. Under structure of the package shelf is complete with the Ford Barn's help. Thank you!

Here is the package tray we made for my 42 3 passenger coupe. Didn't have a drawing with dimensions so a lot of time making a template out of cardboard. |
