On several occasions my starter has kept turning after the engine starts and bendix releases. What could be causing this? I'm still on the original 6 volt system.

Anybody ever have this problem where the starter motor keeps running after the engine starts?

Check the battery as well. A weak battery can cause sticking contacts as well.

ALWAYS push the starter FIRM & HARD, to lessen the chance of ARCING & "welding" the contacts together. ADD this to your FULL Sheet list of "HOW TO START YOUR DAMNED MODEL A"----"Maybe" thet's why CROOKS didn't use Model As????

Once you have the starter switch off, check to see if the bronze contact strip is not catching on the cardboard insulation on the sides.
