Starter Issue On several occasions my starter has kept turning after the engine starts and bendix releases. What could be causing this? I'm still on the original 6 volt system.

Re: Starter Issue Anybody ever have this problem where the starter motor keeps running after the engine starts?

Re: Starter Issue Starter switch is sticking, remove and clean the contacts!

Re: Starter Issue Sounds right. I'll check it out. Thanks!

Re: Starter Issue Check the battery as well. A weak battery can cause sticking contacts as well.
|
Re: Starter Issue Also check alignment of the push rod, as some of the repro switches don't exactly line up, and the rod will bind.

Re: Starter Issue Thanks for all the input!

Re: Starter Issue ALWAYS push the starter FIRM & HARD, to lessen the chance of ARCING & "welding" the contacts together. ADD this to your FULL Sheet list of "HOW TO START YOUR DAMNED MODEL A"----"Maybe" thet's why CROOKS didn't use Model As????

Re: Starter Issue Once you have the starter switch off, check to see if the bronze contact strip is not catching on the cardboard insulation on the sides.
