It looks like I have a couple of options & be able to make this a reality !
I will keep you all up to date as things progress!
May even have a L100B for blown engines .... just maybe ....

the L-100 should ship today, Also I have quite a few cores ,my question is which one of the early cams were factory in the 59a? I have some press on and long snout and short snout for the pre 48, engines I will most likely be shipping a few to the grinder,my automative cam grinder here in okla. has shut down due to retirement , the next ones I want ground will be for the 59A engine I dont want to have to add a button extender,or be bound to using a spacer plate in order to run a crab dizzy on a 59 A.
someone needs to re-educate me on which cam came in what year engine ,It never made any difference to my dad ,he just used what he had available and everything was good.
appreciate the info.

The long cam with hub for press on timing gear is pre 59. 59 cam would be shorter, with flange for bolt on timing gear, and off center slot in front for distributor tang. Post 59, or 8ba cam, would have flange for bolt on timing gear and an extended piece in front with distributor drive gear.

I have a cam ground by Clevland Hone back in the thirties and it's marked McCulloch Supercharger. Interesting numbers.

Fellow Fordbarners,The L-100 has been shipped ,it should arrive at kiwi us no later than monday the 11th.2014.
I'll work on getting my L-100- B, ready to ship,Dang the price it costs to ship and insure these day, not to mention packing.$75.00.whew! but it will be worth it to see you fellows get what you need to get the old flatheads back on the road.

Ihave two types of short nose cams with the slots that have the bolt on timing gear
I am familiar with the 8BAstyle ,as a teenager we used to cut the chev.v-8 dist. down
and work our rears off trying to get the advance right by running them in the cars,
certaily learned a lot in doing so. isn't there two types of short nose cams with the bolt on gear?

this L-100 project prodded me along on checking out what my late father had stashed.
since about the 50s &60s era. I found some cam masters he had engineered ,some flathead v-8 and a six cylinder chevy cams he spent days machining and they are maked such as pt-1 and had some dates marked on them and say in his notes things suchas (winner at xxx track ). years before in the early sixtys he done a lot of experimenting with diffrent engine componants like pistons with teflon skirt rings he made so he could leave extra skirt clearances. He always told me that the looser the engine the faster it could run as long as it could get spark and fuel at the right time, he made a few sets of engine bearings out of teflon ,His words were the teflon will resist heat and the hotter she can run the better,as long as it dont get too hot.I am still going through his research notes and parts that he stored away, the cam masters are as I remember have a name etched like Berco or Barco?,
I think it is the name of the machine, Do any of you recognize the Berco name is there such a grinding machine still in existance. or can these masters even be used in todays world? it is amazing to me what a person has tucked away and long been forgotten, I am the only one from my immediate family that tried to follow his steps.
even though the technology is long out dated the principles can still be put to use.
so pass on what you learned to someone that will keep our automotive history alive
for many years to come.

Berco machines are made in Italy.
They are evolved from the old Van Norman and many parts are interchangeable.
Masters are interchangeable between the two.

thats good to know Pete , also I havn't forgot about the cam you are looking for ,The H&C
I had the other day has a lift of .330, I have found some cams without any marking on them I can tell by looking they have a longer duration than stock, my pop used mostly 8 cm and E.A.B cores for some reason or the other, I found a N.O.S E.A.B still in the ford box. there is still some more parts to sort out , no telling what is in there, I am moving and having to pack a lot of Junk! AS MY Ex- wife calls it, I have already filled a 40ft x 9 ft. shipping container and a 50 ft. storage unit. I have about half that much to go through and sort out hopefully I can get re -established and go on with my hobby soon.

I'm going to be helping a old guy clean out some buildings. And move a ton of cars. His family at one time owned a car museum and a machine shop. I can't wait to get into it all. 90% of stuff is ford. He has a bunch of pre war cars in the woods and in barns. He said there should be a bunch of cams and other engine parts. He said they had a little of everything.
