L100 Cam

Anyone have a L100 cam for a flathead from Cam Techniques -Dave Degeneres , preferably new they would either sell or lend me ? Either early 59AB or late 8BA is fine . Since Dave retired & we can not buy these any longer , I want to make a master & grind these cams making them available to all that want them again.
PM me please if you can help me .
Thanks
Cheers
Tony

Re: L100 Cam

Which cam do you want to copy, 59AB or 8BA? Or, when you get the copy can you do both? Dumb question? John

Re: L100 Cam

Either will work . I can copy either & then be able to grind either. I just need a cam to copy !!!

I wish someone would step up to the plate with one. I'd sure like to have one of those myself.

Re: L100 Cam

Ken I could even grind it on a LZ V12 , once I get a master !!!
How "BAD" would that be !!

Re: L100 Cam

Good luck in your quest.
People seem to be reluctant to have this process done to their favorite cam even if it involves getting their used cam reground to the original specs free in the process.

I have been looking for a 6355 Harmon Collins cam for 20 years to copy.

Masters made off a used cam, depending on wear amount, are not as good as an original unused one but I doubt anyone could tell on the dyno.

I wonder what happened to the equipment, tooling, masters, etc., that Dave Generous had?

Keep us posted if you have any luck with this. Looks like there is a ready-made market for such a camshaft.

I have an L -100 never used, and an L-100b. also never ran, I may consider a loan if there is an insurance or bond as a surety against loss or damage in shipping and replacement if it dosn't make it back to me for any reason and in the same condition, as well as a couple of regrinds on my cores.

Re: L100 Cam

Pete,
send me the info about the harmon and collins, I have a harmon and collins I had ground back in the 70"s when I was a teenager and knew it all, I dont remember what it is ,I will have to check it out, I only ran it a few pases before I blew the rest of the engine, the cam has been hanging in the shop ever since,I just had my hands in it this morning and thought to myself, how about building another engine around it.
I am a hell of a lot older now and know when to back out of the throttle.
