it could have a been a misdiagnosis i suppose...but

maybe you mean how could one take the time trouble and expense to go about doing something the right way, or at least THINK they did, and then found that they had to do it all over again...and again...and yet maybe a third time? ...is that what you mean?

uh ya...i can understand that. as it happens to me all the time. in fact, i've found it to be quite common and more the rule than the exception.

i've been into the left rear hub about four or five times now on my '41. first it was the e-brake cable, then the backing plate, THEN it was the spindle needed shimming, and then back again to the e-brake cable. ...seems it never ends.

in fact i won't, in the least bit, be surprised if when out on my next test drive, the hubcap falls off and before i can turn around and go get it, i will have the privilege of watching it being run over by an 18-wheeler.
