I don't recall if I said earlier that I had to shorten the drag link about 3/4 inch because the Magnum axle is 3/4 in. narrower than stock

Yes you did. I only dropped 1 1/8 beyond stock so my drag link is good as is. Even the tie rod was good as was. I will double check that though when I drive the car and put on the lift. Car sets pretty good. About 25 1/2 from ground to fender lip. I would sure like to put on some white walls but having a hard time justifying nearly $1100.00.

Your 40 sits right and looks good. With enough fender clearance you are "good to go".
Nice to see your door handles are straight.

Sid you car looks good and really sits just right. I think if you purchased whitewalls today you would find that $1100 would be a steal. I like black walls and they look great on early V-8s.

I found some white walls on evilbay at a decent price. ($480.00) Not real wide as they are just a hair over 1 1/2". Less then half the price of the wider ones. I think it brightened thing a little. Not a great pic as it is still stuffed in the shop.

I think it looked better with black walls...

I think so too. Some cars, including '40 DeLuxe coupes, look better with whitewalls. It's got to do with the innate "flashiness" of the design and sometimes the color.
