I had been corresponding with Stipes since Jan. of 2023 about a camshaft. I was
on the waiting list and had been getting updates from them. Then all of a sudden they went radio silent in June of 2023. No answer to emails. The latest email I have is: [email protected] There has been problems getting cam cores for many different makes of engine after COVID. I have a friend that was getting so tired of it that he has gone into the cam core business. We just received two from him, one a small block Ford and the other a Big Block Chevy. We are doing a cad cam drawing of the Model A cam to see what its going to take to make cam cores. They would be a steel billet. |

I got my Stipe shocks 2 years ago. Visited the shop in Plymouth, WI. I know there are lots of Model A'ers in WI and perhaps someone could stop at the shop for a look. Close by would be Manitowoc, Sheboygan, Fond du Lac, Two Rivers, Kohler, Port Washington, Kiel etc. Be a nice A ride as well. Bill

Dodge, If you make cam cores, make them with 5 bearings. That way they will work in the Burtz block. Not that the 3 bearing cams will not work but that the 5 bearing cams take advantage of the 5 journals.
Time has a way of changing things. Companies go in and out of business. What was available a few years ago have disappeared from the planet. If you like something and have the money for it, buy it now.

The blanks are not hard to make
The drive gear is a little tricky but not impossible The biggest challenge is getting the basic profiles for the lobes done, heat treated and final finish. J

For Model A shocks I know they're not a stock shock but the Roto Shim lever shocks made in England are a great product. They have bolt on lever shocks that go right on a Model A or 32. They are accurate in size and unless your going for a high end restoration they are perfect. Check rotoshim.com Beats chasing Stipes. I'm not an A guy but Miller High Speed Heads seems to do a lot with A motors.

I'm on my third set of Rotoshim shocks. Because I now have them on all my cars...
Couldn't recommend them more highly.
