I put a transmission in my 1931 Ford Pickup figuring it would be more quite. The gears looked good also. When I took it for a drive it locked in high gear. I figure it to be in the shifter top. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

I would first pull the top. Maybe you didn't get the shift forks line up in the gears correctly.

Or it may not have been "synchronized" going together - and now you're "dead ended" with no where for the shifter arm ball to go next. Pulling the top will reveal all. MANY recommend rebuilding the ball as a routine repair in transmission overhaul - it's probably a good thing to do. But I think in 40 years I've had ONE non-rebuilt ball that continually got hung up by slipping out of the grooves. Joe K
