Have an enclosed car hauler. I tie down the car on four corners to the D rings but still experience movement of the car sideways in the trailer. What can I do to prevent this? All ideas and pictures appreciated.

Let some air out of the tires. I know it sounds lame, but it works.

How are you attaching the tie downs to your car? hopefully not to the bumper’s or frame! I crisis cross the front and straight back on the rears attached to the axles. Some use two straps on each corner crisscross and straight!

Are the straps on the wheels? That's where they should be. If they're tight at all 4 it shouldn't move. DOT technically requires 4 straps and 2 safety chains as I recall. I've never seen it done correctly by and AAA tow operators.

Install the floor rail system with webs that go over the tires. It will never move!

Whenever I trailer any of my cars I use the wheel straps, of course in a enclosed trailer it may be a bit of a struggle to get them on/off

I'll third the use of wheel nets. I put down E Track so I can move the attachment points as needed.

I have an open trailer but I always use the criss-cross method and haven't had any issues.
