Car Tie Down in Trailer Have an enclosed car hauler. I tie down the car on four corners to the D rings but still experience movement of the car sideways in the trailer. What can I do to prevent this? All ideas and pictures appreciated.

Re: Car Tie Down in Trailer Let some air out of the tires. I know it sounds lame, but it works.

Re: Car Tie Down in Trailer How are you attaching the tie downs to your car? hopefully not to the bumper’s or frame! I crisis cross the front and straight back on the rears attached to the axles. Some use two straps on each corner crisscross and straight!

Re: Car Tie Down in Trailer Are the straps on the wheels? That's where they should be. If they're tight at all 4 it shouldn't move. DOT technically requires 4 straps and 2 safety chains as I recall. I've never seen it done correctly by and AAA tow operators.

Re: Car Tie Down in Trailer Install the floor rail system with webs that go over the tires. It will never move!

Re: Car Tie Down in Trailer the reason you experience movement is because you are not tied diagonally.
this was once discussed here int he past, with guys swearing they could just tie off at each corner. well your experience has shown otherwise...... |
Re: Car Tie Down in Trailer 1 Attachment(s)
Whenever I trailer any of my cars I use the wheel straps, of course in a enclosed trailer it may be a bit of a struggle to get them on/off

Re: Car Tie Down in Trailer Why did the Titanic sink?
EXACTLY & discussed ad nauseam! LOL |
Re: Car Tie Down in Trailer I'll third the use of wheel nets. I put down E Track so I can move the attachment points as needed.

Re: Car Tie Down in Trailer I have an open trailer but I always use the criss-cross method and haven't had any issues.
