I just rebuilt my holley teapot carburetor and it runs great at idle but when I give it 1/4 to 1/2 throttle it spits then dies. The float looks level from the top. I replaced the fuel filter and the pump is mechanical but not that old. I also replaced the distributor cap and rotor and the vacuum advance on it to eliminate that from being a possible issue. Any other thoughts?
Thanks |

Sounds like the accelerator pump is not working. There should have been a new one in the rebuild kit. Make sure it has a snug fit in the cylinder. Also make sure you put in the check-ball to allow the pump to make pressure.

Try moving the pump adjustment to the hole that is farthest from the shaft center line.

I moved the pump adjustment over to the right from the middle and it helped alittle. But I also found the diaphragm from the kit for the power valve was another shorter then the original so luckly i saved the old one and put it in and now its running like a champ. Thanks for the help guys |
