1953 Flathead acceleration issue

I just rebuilt my holley teapot carburetor and it runs great at idle but when I give it 1/4 to 1/2 throttle it spits then dies. The float looks level from the top. I replaced the fuel filter and the pump is mechanical but not that old. I also replaced the distributor cap and rotor and the vacuum advance on it to eliminate that from being a possible issue. Any other thoughts?

Thanks

Sounds like the accelerator pump is not working. There should have been a new one in the rebuild kit. Make sure it has a snug fit in the cylinder. Also make sure you put in the check-ball to allow the pump to make pressure.

Try moving the pump adjustment to the hole that is farthest from the shaft center line.

Accelerator pump, picture attached.

Prior posts may give you a few hints, as to correct float and fuel levels:

Update on my running issue:

I moved the pump adjustment over to the right from the middle and it helped alittle. But I also found the diaphragm from the kit for the power valve was another shorter then the original so luckly i saved the old one and put it in and now its running like a champ. Thanks for the help guys
