Try SEAL-All, available in hardware stores.
http://www.eclecticproducts.com/sealall.htm My neighbor used it on a leaking Ford pickup gas tank. It did the trick. I use it on the jet well plugs on rebuilt carburetors.

Whats this "seal all" stuff.Ive been using "lock-tite 222" for this same thing.Expensive as you know around $12 a tiny little bottle??? Any cheaper also use it on float screw on stroms. ken ct. Send PM if you want.
