Yikes, someone cut the cross member out. It could be repaired but it might be easier to find another good one. The 3-speed was standard for the 226 in the F1 but the 4-speed was not so they made it fit.

There is only one cross member listed in the parts book for the F1 and it is about the same clear back to 1942. The part number is 21C-5025. The F2 & F3 would have the truck type cross member that was made for the 4-speed. It is part number 01T-5025.
