Woodie rear seat hinges and latch
On my Pilot V8 Woodie the rear seat is just supported by a piece of wood between the inner wings, no mounts or hinge on the lower edge... Clearly not right, or original. So, please post pictures or...

Re: Simple DIY distributor/ignition bench tester
Funnily enough i've been looking into this very thing recently! There's virtually no chance of getting a proper Sun or King tester over here in the UK. I reckon that you could start with something...

Re: Broken stud removal. It's ugly. Really ugly.
All good stuff Mart! I've had success with welding a big nut to the stud stub and using an impact gun with the added twist of squirting plumber's pipe freezing spray onto the nut until there's ice...

Re: '40 Houdaille Shock Fluid?
Do you know the ISO VG number for the jack oil? It's probably 40, which is basically the kinematic viscosity in centiStokes. You could try an ISO VG 68 compressor oil or even ISO VG 100. The neat...

Re: Pilot Woodie - long story
Thanks Graeme, it's always uplifting when people appreciate your work! I'm not a professional so it takes me hours to make parts....
As I understand it, the Pilot was exactly as you describe - a...

Re: Truck based woody
I think that it is fabulous! As you said in my thread, the way you've done the rear is very similar to my UK built Pilot Woodie.

Re: Pilot Woodie - long story
Thanks! The louvres are unusual and were only fitted to the commercial versions - pick ups and panel vans. Mine was supplied to the coachbuilders as a E71C so it came with the louvres, an extra...

Pilot Woodie - long story
Here's the start of what might end up as quite an epic... In late 2013 I bought a very rare Ford Pilot V8 Woodie unseen from Holland through a well known auction website. The car had emerged from...

Re: Shock link nuts
Yes, of course. I'll start a thread if there's any interest. I've got some pictures of the car in the mid 1970s before it was dismantled which are quite fun.

Re: Shock link nuts
Thanks for the replies; all very helpful. As ever, obscure parts can be hard to get over here in the UK and expensive to ship. Now I know what I need it'll get me on the right track!

Shock link nuts
Anyone have a view on this? I've put new 1937 front shock links on the Pilot V8 Woodie and the taper is fine but the thread is very short and there are no split pin holes. So, the threads are too...

Antisqueak pad for springs
Hi, the Pilot V8 Woodie has a greased fabric pad between the top leaf and the cross member on both the front and rear springs. Has anyone any suggestions about what to renew them with?
