I used four balls of tin foil stuck to each piston (center, far left, far right, bottom, didn't worry about the top with the clearance in the factory head) with a dab of grease, bolted the heads down...

I have seen an 8BA cast iron distributor adapted for Model T use with every other lobe on the points cam ground off and a manual advance lever made up that attaches to the vacuum diaphragm opening....
