I electrically test the condensers I had and they were are intermittent, One even had the lead fall out of the condenser body as I handled it, what antique relics.

Now when I press the starter, the ammeter jiggles. I was told this jiggling is the points opening and closing? Is that true? Now maybe the problem is in the distributer itrself?

Maybe the car ammeter was stuck and jumping the leads freed it up

I jumpered the key switch and my car amp meter started registering.
not with starting but when i turn the lights on and off. Now the kicker, I removed the jumber and the ammeter is registering with...

strange twilight zone stuff.
I have lights, muffled horn, good starter action.
i though maybe the key ignition switch and on lever are caput.

Ok, I will also try jumping my key switch, maybe the switch broke and is not turning the car on anymore.

no snap heard.
I removed the ground cable from the battery. Now I test for continuity between the ground cable and the positive battery terminal

My starter works fine.

There is continuity. My lights still work, but my horn sounds a little muffled, not strong. Could I have a short in my wiring that is sabotaging the entire system.

The ammeter is connected with 2 leads, I tightened them down, they were a little lose.
The horn sounds normal now and the headlights work, high and low beam and are not intermittent, but I still...
