Re: Why is it so hard for me?

Whadda ya mean? Why would I buy metric shit to work on my old 1936
Ford, unless you believe cross threading is the way to go. LOL I know we are just having a little fun with this. No harm in that.

The National Post has the next days NYT puzzle available to print at 5 PM daily. I print it and save it to work on when I give my Honey of 61 years her nightly foot rub. I rub with my right hand and...

Re: Why is it so hard for me?

It starts about 40. The spring in your legs is the first I believe. By 80 most everything below the belts has gone South. When I retired 19 years ago 6-1/2 hours of sleep was perfect. Now it's...

Talking Shout out to Steve Blancard ndnchf

What a great service from Steve. I ordered a generator about 11:30 AM and it was at the post office before 2 PM.

Re: Why is it so hard for me?

I can't help but wonder how long it will be till it is no longer a laughing matter. If it would only happen a couple times a day I would be so elated!!!!! I hate to say this but knowing that I'm not...

Re: Why is it so hard for me?

Thanx all ! It’s funny, getting old how I forgot that I have a hand held pump/sucker canister like a grease gun that I have used before and couldn’t remember it. It’s been a couple years! Geeeesh!...

Why is it so hard for me?

I have always struggled getting the transmission oil refilled with all of the obstructions in the way. Has anyone figured out a way to do this easily? You would think that after 65+ years laying...

8volt battery

I recently saw a 6 volt Ford with an 8 volt battery and wondered if the 3 brush generator could be adjusted to charge the battery. Also, I would think this would cause problems for the original Ford...

Re: Dennis Carpenter mat

I set it in the sun for an hour and carefully unrolled it. It seemed pliable so I spread it out and put some weights on the bends. Then back into the “oven” I am quite hopeful! Thanx all !

Dennis Carpenter mat

I think this new mat has been rolled up for a long time. It was in the original wrapping. Should I put it in the bathtub with very warm water to soften it up to unroll it?

Re: Fuel Inlet Fitting?

I think we are lucky that Mart wasn’t the opposing general in the Revolutionary War. Pick up your marbles and go home Mart! LOL. No offense meant. This has put a big smile on my face! Life is good...

I gotta tell you guys that I just went out to my shop and did an intensive and scientific test to see what I could determine. You can start giggling now if you wish! I took some new 1/4” copper tube...

Re: Fuel Inlet Fitting?

I don’t know, you haven’t convinced me yet. I include a picture for your examination. The nuts are identical. The only difference that I can see is the ferrule for the Ford designated fitting is...

Re: Fuel Inlet Fitting?

With respect again Mart. The ferrule is NOT only 1 compression point but 2. If you will just examine the picture carefully you will be able to see. It compresses the ferrule in two places just like a...

Do you remember if they were indeed a one piece fitting? What I have appears to be one piece but the ferrule is longer and extends deep into the nut. It is tight enough that you cannot pull it apart...

Re: Fuel Inlet Fitting?

With respect Mart, What would make you believe that a part that was made specifically for a job would be inferior to some off the shelf part?

Re: Fuel Inlet Fitting?

The one on the right is what everyone sells now. I doubt that the one on the left is made anymore for lack of demand.

Re: Fuel Inlet Fitting?

The ferrule of the original fitting made especially for the use on the Stromberg is not just a short ferrule like all suppliers now sell, IMHO. The ferrule is longer and feeds back into the fitting...

Re: The Last Four Or Five Days

Coopman saw it coming for sure. I am underwhelmed by the amount of traffic on the early V8 site the last few months. Alas, we have lost so many of the older knowledgeable contributors.
