Thanks for the info, I have a standard shift and I already have a under dash mounted tachometer. its good to know were not the only ones with this issue.

I just relocated my column shifter from the steering column of my 55 Ford Fairlane to the floor.
I would like to find a steering wheel dash bezel that doesn't have the opening...

yes its my car I'm going for approximately 1 or 1 1/2" drop all the way around.
I know how to handle the back, was just trying to find info for lowering the front.

Slam is a strong word I just want to lower the car another 1 1/2" all the way around.

Thanks for the help, I did get the handle removed, was a solid pin ( wont ever attempt that again).
I found a handle that is attached to the shaft on e-bay, sent for that and will redo the handle...

I have a 55 Fairlane with a warmed over 272 ( bored .60 over, small cam, four barrel carb). I show the car locally, will drive four or five miles to a show with no issues, when I arrive and its time...

I'll keep playing with the clips, the triangle shape is on the reproduction handles.
Do you know if anyone is producing reproduction handles with the round back like the original ?
