59AB engine removed from my 39 Ford a year ago. This engine ran fine with no start up issues, noises, smoke, or drips. From the history of my car, this engine was likely rebuilt in the late 70's, run very little, then sat for 30 years. It required a rebuilt carb a couple of years ago to get running again.
Although it ran well when I took it from the car, I took the driver's side head off to inspect it. It's bored .060 over, has no wear or build up above the top ring indicating very little run time, has no carbon build up around the valves, shows no cracks, and needs only one head gasket replaced to run again. Buyer is welcome to inspect. It is complete including carb, distributor, wires, etc. This is literally a bolt in and go replacement. My 39 has an 8ba in it and I'm selling this engine to finance the rebuild of a spare 8ba. Pick up must be arranged. Pictures available to truly interested parties. Also available are three toploader three speeds, including one 39. Two (37 and 50 truck with open drive shaft) have been disassembled, repaired, and reassembled. The stock 39 is in excellent shape. Once again, buyer is welcome to inspect. These are priced separately. |
