Our family will be in the USA for bonnevile and after we are taking in a nascar race at michigan,we plan to drive over to the Niagara falls,
Once a few years back when visiting a mate ,we toured around some Menanite area around Hamilton or Toronto in Canada,would anyone know what the area is.
Or where there are communities of them or the Amish in the USA

If you get far enough east, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania has a heavy population of Mennonite and Amish.

Wayno, how could we not catch up,Carol will be coming as well.
Brendon,yes we will be in CA,for a few days in LA when we arrive then driving up to bonneville,then for a week or so on our return,probablly in late Aug or early sept.
Aussie steeve,We WILL catch up at bonneville.
And Ron, we are spending a week in detroit and then driving to New York via Niagre falls,Snyders A parts and Summit racing in Tallmadge.

I doubt you will be traveling down near the PA-MD State lines, but we have a lot of Amish folks living in the area between Lancaster, PA and Rising Sun, MD. Lancaster County, PA is considered to be big time Amish country.

Went to Lancaster ,PA one time to buy truck parts... they were on a Amish farm. As soon as i pulled in with my friend, they greeted us with bread and home made pies! All the parts were in a silo. Wow! but what got me was all the little boys and the teens had no shoes on and were cutting down trees barefooted!!. That was a day! LOL

I am ashamed to say that I have lived my whole life three hours from the Bonneville Salt Flats and have never been there for the speed trials. Just driven by on the freeway.

I loved the movie "The World's Fastest Indian" with Anthony Hopkins playing New Zealander Burt Munro who spent years building a 1920 Indian motorcycle -- a bike which helped him set the world land-speed record at Utah's Bonneville Salt Flats in 1967. If you haven't seen it and have any interest in "tweaking" an engine to go fast, this is a must see.
