My Uncle just gave me a 41 Ford Pickup chassis. He took the pickup body off this chassis and put it onto another frame and engine because of some rust damage to this frame.
I've attached pictures of the rust damage. It's located near the rear passenger side tire, right where the X-Member meets the frame. The outside frame is rusted straight through, and the part of the X-Member is pretty much rotted out. Looks like Precision Coachworks makes repair patches for this area, so I wanted to ask if anyone had done this repair already. I'll be taking it to some welding shops for pricing, so if anyone can give me an idea of what I should expect to pay for the job I'd appreciate it. Any other tips are also appreciated. Thanks, Nick |
