Default Window Shade Pull

The pull on my rear window in my Town Sedan broke today. Does anyone know where I can find one. Seems the vendors want to sell you the whole shade...

Or any suggestions how I can repair it. I'm not good with needle and thread...

I did find some at Micheal's that look similar but no brown.

Not a show car.

Miz Diane made several for me a few months ago, color matched to the car. They're very easy to make. She used cross-stitch floss, which is available in a wide variety of colors.

I think she found a youtube video showing how to do it. I'll ask her.

Just tie the loose end to the captive end!

I can find plenty of shades with tassels, but not the tassel itself. I must be looking in the wrong place...

If you had to you could easily die 1 of those lighter colors into dark brown.

This is the video link that Miz Diane used to make my color-coordinated tassels.

Just about any "craft" store ("Hobby-Lobby", here) will have scores of colors to choose from. She matched the tan of my interior plus the Apple Green accent color of my wheels and pinstripe.

If you do have a light colored tassle, dunk it into a cup of black coffee, then let it dry.Repeat with a stronger brew if needed.

All good ideas. I think I want to try making my own. I just ordered some "Dark Coffee Brown" Embroidery Floss from Amazon. I will try it out when we get back, getting ready to leave for the CCRG Jamboree this weekend.

Y-Blockhead, have fun at the CCRG, Bakersfield was a little too far us this year, hopefully next year will be closer. Next week we are off the Lake County A's annual Spring Opener in Lakeport.

I showed her your post. She actually giggled.

She made a few combinations for me to pick thru. I ended up using the tan with the green accent whipping. See attached.

Warning: dad joke.

An old sailor trick, to make the wippings neat and tidy, is to cut off the ends and throw them away.

Trapdoor, thank Miz Diane again for me. I actually made a tassel. Worked out pretty good.

There's someone who advertises in the MARC Model A News that says they have tassels that are authentic. $35 each. Contact is [email protected]
