I've seen the threads about using 1980s Bronco rear drums as a front drum replacement. Is there any issue with the center hole size? I read F1 drums use the hub to center the drums.
Would Ac Delco 18B33 drums work?

Hub register on the Bronco drums match the pilot on an F-1 hub.

Thanks. Seems like the best alternative to finding F1 drums. Mine are right at .060 over.

Oh wow, first I've heard of this. Is it a direct swap? Hard to find anyone to turn drums around me anymore.

80 Bronco [U]rear[U] is a good application to use. Being "flat faced" they differ in appearance from the originals; but once a wheel is on, it isn't seen. Initial anchor pin adjustment has to be done differently due to the lack of feeler gauge slots; but drums with slots haven't been made in forever. If you come across full cast iron F-1 repop drums, be aware that they are known for casting shift and uneven balance. Talking F-1 front drums above. F-1 rears are still available in the regular automotive market. |
