Default '36-'39 Shift Lever

I had the shift tower off the '39 trans in my car and I found the stud and ball on the end of the shift lever had some significant wear. The only replacement lever I could find was on ebay and no guaranty it was in better condition than the one I had. I understand you can weld it up and file it into shape but I found a better solution.

Third Gen offers a new lower section of the shift lever, 91A-7210, $58. It has a 3/8 diameter stub to connect to a Gennie Shift lever. I had to bend it to the proper shape for my application. The Gennie levers come with 2 set screw to hold it to the stub.
I ordered a lever and after installing it, I found the set screws were not sufficent to prevent it from rotating on the stub, so I pinned it and that solved the issue.

It worked great, so I cut the end off of the old lever and drilled it for the 3/8 stub and two roll pins. I have a spare now.

I try to use every product we sell, and this is one I have yet to personally use. Good to hear real world experience.

Just going by the title, I've got one of those levers (in white porcelain) on my toilet.
