Default Wagner Products?

There were two items that I was planning to purchase from Wagner products: a trailer hitch and an alternator mounting kit. Unfortunately the owner has passed and there is nobody that wanted to continue the business so they have permanently closed (an all too common occurrence these days). If anyone has either of these products that they would like to sell I would be interested.

A decent alternator mounting kit is available from Snyder’s (https://www.snydersantiqueauto.com/p...6001&cat=41710). Can’t help on the trailer hitch, although any good metal fab shop should be able to whip one up. Plenty did in the day. It ain’t rocket surgery.

Bert's has the trailer hitch.

I just installed this (easy install) on my '31 roadster to use with a cargo tray.

Pretty sure it was made by Wagners, but I took all the stickers off.

Says it's not for towing a trailer, just for parade flag use. But it's very substantial, works well with the cargo tray - I'd guess a small utility trailer would work also. Tongue weight would be the key. My cargo tray is 50 lbs with the hitch riser adapter (straight out from receiver with straight bar on tray was a little too low to the ground for my liking) and my load on the tray will be 125 lbs max.

FWIW - I used an alternator that is made to look like a generator - used original mounting hardware.

The Wagner alternator mount is not the same as the Snyders alternator mount.
The Snyder unit works perfectly on NuRex and GM Style alternators. Wagner alternators had an entirely different body and the swing arm mount had a different offset as well as a different arc. Just my experience.

Try contacting Larry Shepard in St. Charles, MO. He just mentioned at last night’s Missouri Valley MARC meeting that he was in contact with Tom Wagner’s widow over next steps, and he did say that Tom was selling the alternators thru some of the bigger Model A vendors. So maybe there’s somebody who has one in stock. I was surprised to find that Tom and I were classmates in high school, when I ran into him at our 50th reunion a couple years ago. He was a good guy.

Website yesterday (the pic I posted) said "Availability: In Stock". Disappointing that it's wasn't.

Today says "Out of Stock".

Would be fairly easy to replicate for someone with the proper tools and skills (which ain't me, hence why I bought one).

It is such a shame that is not available any longer. I Purchased one last year. Very well built, easy to install with great instructions.

I got a Wagner alternator from Steve at Bert’s parts. He still had one in stock (Wagner with Bracket).
Sand, that support is for a stock generator that had no means of tension adjustment originally.
