Default Rear window adjustment on a '47 Super Dlx

The rear windows will not roll up and down correctly on my convertible with the top up.
Either the top needs to be adjusted up or the windows adjusted down. The problem exists on both sides.
For those of you with experience in these matters, which should I try to adjust? The top or the windows.
Thank you and "Good Night, Mrs. Calabash, wherever you are"

same problem. I've ajusted them a hundred times. The bind on the windows is hard on the regulator gear. I just unlatch the roof and they work. i do not have to put the roof down. i've talked to other owners and some have the same problem. The problem is likely the rubber is slightly to big or the adjusting holes in the roof rails are slightly worn not giving enough lift. Good luck

I agree with bill h. I have the same problem with my 47 Ford Convertible rear windows.

Years ago I helped a friend restore a '48 convertible and we had the same issue. As I recall, the top iron mechanism had provisions for adjustments. We had to make gradual adjustments on each side to compensate for looseness of the top mechanism due to age and wear of the components. Check your top iron assembly to see if you can locate the adjusting points.

Thank you for the suggestion. It's 5* in my garage right now so I'll wait until Monday.
Thanks again.

Also on the body where the door shuts there is 2 metal plugs where the rear windows are attached. Remove the plugs and you loosen the 2 bolts there and you can move the window up or down. I believe the bolts are allan heads. Bill

Now that is some great information. I will give that a try.
Thank you so much.
