Default Broken Rear Axle Photo Needed

Hi all! I am preparing a presentation for my local Model "A" club and I need a photo of a broken piece of a Model "A" rear axle. I have the attached photo of what I need, but the photo has a dark background, so I cannot use it. I would much appreciate a post of this axle piece on a white / very light background.

How about if we remove the background?

The photo is very interesting from a metallurgical standpoint. It looks like a crack started at the keyway and then the strength was finally reduced to the point where it snapped.

Bob, that is exactly where a rear axle will break on a Model A. I have explained in the past why that is. If you haven't seen that, feel free to contact me and I'll explain. Once explained, the cause is obvious but not many know it.

the axle brakes there because the housing race is worn out. the race can be replaced a mechine shop cuts down the race & preses on a new one just make sure you get a good one with the proper hardnes
