Default 1929 Rumble Seat Lock Cylinder

Does anyone know of anyone selling original lock cylinders that would fit a '29 rumble seat handle? I took my original apart to get it re-plated and the lock cylinder broke in two. Would a lock cylinder from a reproduction fit in an original handle? Thanks

The repro lock cylinders will not work in an original handle. At least none of the repros I have seen.

Take it to a locksmith and see what they say.

The door lock cylinders that some sources sell are for the independent locks so they are different. I haven't looked and the integral to door handle locks on those that are reproduced that way. They are reproduction so may not be all that close to the old tech Ford door handles. It would take a good bit of research to see if any of the later Ford door handles may be similar. 32phil over on the Early V8 side may know more about compatibility than anyone else I'm familiar with. He cuts keys for some of the later Fords.

Send your handle to Dick Crabtree, he will straighten it out for you. He restores all the Model A locks and Pop Out Ignition switches, does an excellent job at fair prices.
