Default "41 Ford hood latch

When I hit an abrupt bump such as a manhole cover, uneven lanes, or "expansion strips" on a concrete road, my hood latch releases the hood. Thankfully it stays latched, and doesn't open. Anyone else have this problem, or has seen it? What's the remedy? Thanks.

Check that hood pin is completely latched. Sounds like pin is not dlwn into latch mechsnism to fully latch. Loosen lock nut on the pin and unscrew the hood pin in increments to get it fully latched

In many cases the fix is simply adjusting the latch deeper and replacing the latch spring so bumps can’t jar it loose.
