Default Cleaning Wire Wheels

Can anyone tell me the best way to clean wire wheels and the grille bars on a 1940 Ford. My 33 Roadster wheels are a PIA to clean and the grille on my 40 isn’t fun either.

Wire wheels are a pain in the ass to keep clean, but if you have a 33 roadster that should eliminate all whimpering about it.

Do a google search. There are soft wheel cleaners you can buy that will get in between the spokes of your wheels.

I only meant you should be very happy to have a 33 roadster. Sorry if I worded it poorly

I don't see it as a "derogatory comment" at all; just a simple statement of fact (as the former owner of a set of Tru-Spokes, I should know).

I suggest someone grow a thicker skin and enjoy their car.

When I had a Model A coupe I used an electric power washer on the wire wheels. Seemed to do a reasonable job on them. This power washer was an electic unit from Horrible Freight and it was not as powerful as some.

Power washing or a toilet bowl brush or one spoke at a time. If you have a '32-'35 with original wheels, the spokes are part of the deal.

There are a couple types of brushes made for spoke wheels. Google motorcycle spke wheel cleaners and you'll come up with a bunch of them.

This is my collection. The old bristle brush has a metal loop on the end which I was always leery of so I shrunk some shrink tubing over the end and hold it on with a tiny zip tie. The blue brush I just bought from Amazon, foam core with microfiber glove. Looks like it should work well.

Misunderstandings happen sometimes. Cas3, I think most all of us understood your compliment but sadly, not 37fatfender.
Your very gracious apology confirms your good intentions.
