I have a third style model a light bar. Anyone know when it was used? I am thinking between the 28-29, and the 30-31. I will get a picture. Only seen two of these ever. This came from a recent estate sale. Not mentioned in the judging standards.

Does it look like this? U-shaped,(not tubular)with slotted license plate holes made in.I took one off a car in the 70's because the old timers told me that it was a cobbled up Chevy bar on there.I saved it,and years later found it was legit.In recent years I've heard intertube tales about them cracking and falling off,but it has been on this truck for 54000 miles,since the mid 80's.Each end had a little crack,so I melted a little wire in to them.I have another one I plan to use on a truck I have in a basket.Things that would crack and break in the 30's won't today because we don't drive the A's on roads like we had back then,and we won't drive them the same way.

Those "worthless or rusty parts" may be just what someone needs to restore their car.

Probably a rare bird. No patina on this one. Probably a spare Marco kept for his roadster.

Your point is taken but most of them that I have seen or used were cracked/broken. Some were honestly not worth restoring. Ford used them and then realized the defect rate was too common. Went back to the more rigid bar.

I can tell you that if you grab the headlight it will flex a lot more than the better style bar.Nothing you would notice while driving it though.My truck is a June of 30,so it would not have used that bar anyway.But,I like to use oddball stuff.It also has a set of float a motor mounts that use one more rubber slab than we normally see.My uncle parked that truck in 1954,with those mounts,so I re-used them.It has a pair of engine pans that are galvanized steel,VERY thin,old J.C.Whitney cheezo parts.They have printing on them,and flattened out lines from an earlier life.I believe they were stamped out of old used ductwork.It had friction shocks on it,but I changed them years ago.They really did work,so where I have the truck apart right now I'm going to put them back on.It also has an aluminum gooseneck.It had an aftermarket WHITE steering wheel on it,but I couldn't take looking at that,so I think I sold it to somebody on here many years ago.

Thought you discovered the special headlamp bar in the parts books exclusively for the 1929 Town Car.
The bar between the head lamps was moved forward away from the radiator to increase idle cooling at the curb while awaiting 'Mrs.' to finish her shopping. "Home James" |

A-13113 was likely for use with a winterfront which restricts the airflow. This would be useful in cold weather.
If anyone knows of one or has a picture PLEASE let me know. Bob |

I have one on my July 1930 68B cabriolei . Fixed seat oval speedo also has forged front fender braces .
