Default 34 victoria passenger side door glass

I have everything to put the new glass into the door of a friend's car, however the bottom fell off the old glass before I could get it out and I am wondering which way the new metal channel goes on the glass. I have the measurments from the old glass as to position, but I can't find anywhere that shows which side the stud that sticks out, that allows the glass to move back opening up the "vent" area at the front. I am sure all 34s have this the same way, it either points toward the inside of the car or outside of the car, and I don't want to put the channel on wrong on the new glass. I had a 34 sedan delivery 30 or 40 years ago but just don't remember. I am sure someone here had done a 34 passenger car door. Thanks in advance.

The stud is towards the inside. To install the mechanism it has to be out of the track.

Proartguy, Thanks a million!! I didn't want to have the metal on the glass in the wrong way as breaking a new window removing it would certainly be bad luck. I will read your article.
