Having hard time shifting my three on the tree. Found that one of the shifter levers is actually leaning against the clutch adjustment rod. Even after adjusting the rod it still hits. Only thought I have would be to bend the rod. Does anyone have another solution? thanks

Are you sure you have the correct rods or the rods on the correct levers and shift arms?

Also, check and see if the linkage points are worn causing excessive play

I have been driving it like that for a year. I know I need bushings but I could always shift it until now.

Get a repair manual and make sure the rods are connected from the correct side and are not backwards. Meaning, the rods enter the levers from either the engine side or the frame side of the lever, whatever the manual says. Or, front of the lever or rear of the lever.

do not forget to ck the trans, and motor mounts. worn or broken mounts can let an eng. and trans shift side to side or fwd and backward. oil soaked and squishy mounts could also cause a problem.--Just a thought.

If the bushings are shot, find a machine shop that can make you some new ones out of metal (your choice). No more slop in the shift linkage.
