7ra v8 distributor

Thanks guys for the guidance on color. I painted the distributor cast iron and it looks great. So far new bushings, new breaker plate, wiring and points. Condenser checks out within specs. Waiting on a new vacuum canister to mount on the bench before I install the shaft/gear.

Before I insert the wick and oil cap, should I inject some oil in the hole first? Or just install the wick and oil that?
