Another question for you guys. I'm trying to locate the cage nuts for the top of the wheel well where the fender attaches. According to the book it calls for 359952-S. This is the same # used at the rear of the well and the outer aprons. From what I can tell they need to be longer to fit and reach the holes. Therefore not the same part. I need 6 as they are missing on both sides.
I haven't been able to find anything that would work in the 5/16 x 24 thread. Nothing in my AMK catalog or on the google machine. Sorry, I didn't take this apart so working with what I have. Any info as always appreciated. |

In other words, the take-offs are not long enough? Maybe going to a larger clip would help?
- https://autofastenersandclips.com/co...tive-fasteners If no, I have a FORD UTILITY AND STANDARD PARTS CATALOG (somewhere). I will dig it out and go from there. Do you have body and paint supply stores in your area. If they don't have the clips needed they should be able to order them for you.

5/16 x 24 are a pain in the butt to find. I eventually went with 5/16 x 18.

Actually, the factory made two variations of the 5/16x24 cage nut used in '55/56 cars. They had one version with a long U-clip and one with a shorter U-clip. If I remember right, the ones with the long U-clip were used for the front fender to inner fender apron and under the front air-deflector. The ones for the fender apron attachments in the back had the shorter U-clips.
I think you can use replacement 5/16x18 cage nuts with long u-clips everywhere if you don't mind a bit of u-clip hanging out, since they are mostly hidden. |

The actual PN is 359952-S2.
MAC's shows as having them, but you know what that is worth - https://www.macsautoparts.com/fan-sh...0-14327-1.html Is there a NEW HOLLAND TRACTOR dealer near you? This used to be FORD TRACTOR but they are still using the FORD PN SYSTEM. They show having them.

I may still have a box full of these cage-nuts in my stash of restoration fasteners. I will go look sometime on Sunday (can't do it tomorrow since it is the sabbath). If I can locate them, I'll send you a PM.
I know for sure I have a big coffee-can full of 5/16"x24 flying-saucer bolts, but the cage nuts are in a separate box in a drawer in the garage. |

I sent you a PM of what I found. Probably not worth messing with, but you decide.
