I see Comp Cams is making a Thumpr cam for our flatheads, anyone have any experience with this one yet ?

If I remember right, it looks like they run a tight lobe center to give it the "thump", but this also kills low end torque. Need a long stroke and lots of compression to compensate, but then why bother.

They are ground on an 106 lobe center, this is what gives this cam the sound....Ed

Bum,
What Jack said....been there. My bone stock '35 sedan walks my '41 1/2 ton with an 8ba , 3/4 cam etc going up hills and away from lights....for the the first 6 car lengths. On the freeway or in open country of course the '41 creams the '35. Charlie ny |
