Default Distributor Cap and Rotor Duraspark Conversion

Will this Duraspark cap,adapter and rotor just go on and work on a point type

distributor?

Let's wave our magic wand and say it does work with points.


Step 2 would be to get a point eliminator kit.


It is back burner project.Just always wondered if it would work.

2 piece ford cap will work on '57 to at least '75 or so. Make sure you get cap(top), adapter(center section) and rotor. also will need corresponding plug wires. Reason Ford went with the larger cap is so plug wires are farther apart and eliminates cross firing. Also new cap has "male" plug wire connector so that eliminates moisture collecting as on the small cap. I used this set-up on my '81 302 w/ mid '70's point dist.

We ordered for a '78 Ford pickup 351M to get a Duraspark setup.


We will keep them on the shelf until it's time to upgrade that distributor.


It will be awhile.
