Default Does this open ?

Folks, I slowly start to investigate my V8 :-)
Does the triangle platen (see zoom in pic) in front of the windscreen open somehow?
Should there be a handle or so ?

Greetings from Germany.

Look under the cowl for a handle. Post a sideview of your project, or describe.

Greetings from Germany.
The picture below shows the handle to open your vent. The handle is located below the middle of your instrument panel. Push the handle forward to open the vent. DD

Shooting-brake originated as an early 19th century British term[1] for a vehicle used to carry shooting parties[2] with their equipment and game. The etymology of the term brake is uncertain;[3] initially a chassis used to break in horses, and subsequently used to describe a motorized vehicle. It is also possible, that the word 'brake' has its origins in the Dutch word 'brik' which means 'cart' or 'carriage'.

The term was later applied to custom-built wagons by high-end coachbuilders and subsequently became synonymous with station wagon or estate.[4][5][6][7][8]

Well GOOD! Do you realize that the windshield should also open at the bottom, pivoting on two upper hinges? There should be a crank just below the bottom, center of the windshield on the dash. There's all sorts of ventilation for hot, summer driving. See the T-handle at top, center of dash. DD

Yikes! That's a shot from the first look-see of the '35 I later purchased last June. It's a real good car, but has issues. One of them is that two different idiots have had their paintbrushes at work on the interior. One used blue! At least that was covered with a nicer dark gray, but they painted over the waterfall! One of the most beautiful items ever put on a car interior and they just painted over it! Sheesh.

The windshield winder, and air vent work like they should at least.

It's a station wagon in US parlance.
