I would like to suggest you post directly from fordbarn. Otherwise in a couple of years they might vanish. Frustrating when checking the archives.

Not only that, but I can never see photobucket images due to certain firewalls imposed by others. FordBarn pictures show up quite nicely though.

How to post from Fordbarn, just in case you would like to try.

Step-1
1. Open your album
2. Double Click the picture you want
3. The picture will come up large and right below it you will see the Picure URL
4. Highlight the URL then
5. Hold the crtl button down and press the letter v to copy the URL

Step-2
1. Open the thread you want the picture in.
2. Go to post reply, In this case I used “Quick Reply”
3. Click on picture of Mountain
4. Make sure the http:// is highlighted
5. Hold the crtl button down and press the letter v to paste the URL you copied in Step-1
6. Choose OK

I agree with Charlie.
I had to quit Photobucket when they changed there hosting site about 7 years ago and I lost over 2000 pictures I had stored there. When something works perfectly well, why can't they just leave it alone.

Another vote to forget about Photobucket (and any other hosting service) and load your pictures directly into Fordbarn. Between missing photos, due to hosting service problems, etc. and posts that have been deleted by members out to make some kind of a statement, hundreds of old threads have been rendered virtually useless and a waste of a readers time. Load them into Fordbarn and they'll be there as long as the thread itself is.

That makes sense. Now, how do I load directly into the Ford Barn?

One way is to use the "Attach Files" at the bottom of the page. The problem with this way is the limited control of the size

The problem with your thumbnail example above is that the image is very small to begin with (300 X 250 roughly I recall) whereas on your second post it was presumably larger and was likely downsized by Fordbarn to 800 X 600 upon posting. Using Fordbarn only there should be no problem getting appropriate sizing, as I think I've done with your example. A common problem when using an outside hosting service is that the pictures are too large and they do not get downsized by Fordbarn with the result that only a portion of the picture fits on the screen. I've seen pictures posted where only about 1/4 of it was seen on the screen. I'm on the run now but will check in later for comments or questions.

Follow this link and read #14 to see how I post pictures.
BTW, I set my 4.1 megapixel camera on medium jpeg, and they work great to post here.

Here is what I get when I post from my IMAC directly to the fordbarn. You can click on the thumbnail to enlarge but you can't get a full page. Sorry about the late model car.

Charley, I click on your thumbnail 3 times to get to maximum size and find it to be 800 X 600, which is the maximum display size for anything loaded into Fordbarn (using Jpeg anyways) it seems. Copying the URL for this image gives the full size image in a post as well as the thumbnail.

There seems to be so much endless discussion, problems, etc. with picture posting that it seems there should almost be a "sticky" created. Maybe we should get Ryan's input.

There is a FAQ button at the top of the page which has a section on how to post pictures.

For Photobucket:
Go to your library
Right click the IMG code
Choose copy
Come back to Fordbarn
Right click on your message
Choose paste
It will put a link in your message that appears as a picture

That seems to be the way today. Keep changing things that work well. It must be about making more money for some one.
