Default Patent Data Plate location on RHD's...

Which side of the firewall was the Patent Data Plate riveted to on Right Hand Drive vehicles?

Thanks and a happy Thanksgiving to all especially to our service men and women wherever they are.

If the car was Canadian built it may not have a Patent Data Plate.

I know that 1930-31 Model A's built in Canada did NOT have Patent Data Plates. I can't remember if earlier one did or not). My Canadian built roadster (Serial No. CAU2248), although it did not have the Patent Plate, it still has the holes on the firewall to attach it. There is no evidence that it ever had a Patent Plate attached. The hole are unmarked.

Canadian RHD's only had a patent plate in 1928. They gave no patent numbers, only 'Patents Pending, Ford Motor Company of Canada, Ford Ontario'.
After 1928, tanks had holes or indent for to attach a plate; this may be a clue that all Model A tanks were manufactured at one source [ Detriot]?
Do not know if Ford England attached their own plate, but Model A's sold in France [ export English small bore cars I believe] had a French plate attached on right hand side , but these were LHD.
